On Tuesday, May 7th at 4:30 PM EST, Dr. Robert Perrillo of Baylor University Medical Center and University of Texas Southwestern presented on: “Hepatitis B and C: Coinfection and Reactivation”

Lecture Objectives:
1. Explain the epidemiology and course of hepatitis B virus (HBV).
2. Discuss the laboratory testing and diagnosis of hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HBV.
3. Describe the clinical management of HCV and HBV coinfection.

Presenter Bio:
Dr. Perrillo is an internationally recognized clinical researcher on viral hepatitis. His curriculum vitae contains over 200 peer reviewed original articles and several book chapters on hepatitis B and delta virus in major GI and liver textbooks. His articles and editorials have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA, and liver journals such as Hepatology. His current research interests relate to hepatitis B reactivation. He has recently published on hepatitis B reactivation during and after treatment of hepatitis C with direct acting antivirals and is a noted expert in this area.
