On Tuesday, June 11th, Cassandra Kahl of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute and Diana Diaz Munoz of the New York City Health Department presented on: “HCV Peer Workers: Keeping it Real”
About Cassandra Kahl:
Cassandra Kahl is the Peer Certification Program for the NYS Department of Health AIDS Institute(NYSDOH AI). She has been with the program for four years, since it’s development stages, and seeing it to close to 200 Certified peer Workers in HIV, HCV, and HR across New York State. She has worked in the public health field for nearly a decade, and is committed to improving the lives, health outcomes and future of PLWH, PLWHCV and PWID.
About Diana Diaz Munoz:
Diana Diaz Muñoz is the manager of Hep C Community Navigation at syringe exchanges programs, health centers and hospitals. She has been working in the field of Hep C for over four years with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Diana earned her Master’s in Public Health at the CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter College and specialized in Community Health Education. Diana is passionate about community-driven approaches to health equity and developing effective communication resources.
