On Tuesday, November 6th, Dr. Dost Sarpel of Milford Regional Medical Center presented on: “Hepatitis C and HIV Coinfection”

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the epidemiology and prevention of hepatitis C (HCV) among people living with HIV.
2. Discuss screening and diagnostic workup of HCV.
3. Describe the clinical management of HCV/HIV coinfection.

Presenter Bio:
Dr. Dost Sarpel is currently an Infectious Disease attending at Milford Regional Medical Center. Previous to that he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; Sinai West/St Luke’s campus. Dr. Sarpel trained in Viral Hepatology under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas Dieterich at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sarpel’s interests include patients with HIV and hepatitis C co-infection as well as patients with HIV and hepatitis B co-infection.
